And the new Miss Universe 2006 is...Miss Puerto Rico!!! The win was so overwhelming for the 18 year old Puerto Rican, Zuleyka Rivera that she fainted 40 minutes or so into her reign as the new Miss Universe during a post-pageant news conference and was immediately rushed off stage. She beat Miss Japan who was obviously a crowd favourite during the whole two hour event at Los Angeles. Zuleyka Rivera went one step further than last year's Miss Puerto Rico who ended up as first runner-up to Natalie Glebova of Canada. Zuleyka's chainmail evening gown was really captivating! This year's event was definitely worth watching. Catch the reruns if you can.
