"Mungkin Nanti" music video by peterpan
My friend introduced this song to me a few days back. Ever since, it has been played over and over again on my iTunes (over 50 times and counting). Well, actually it's looping with some other Malay songs that I have in my music collection or the play count would probably have reached a much higher number!!! There's not many Malay songs in my playlist to start with (only twelve to be precise) but that's all that my speakers were playing for the past few days. :P
'Mungkin Nanti' is a really beautiful song and the lyrics quite unique. The piano, guitars and drums complements so well in the song and let's not even get started with how suited that guy's vocals are for this type of jiwang songs. I probably like the beginning the best especially the part beginning with that sudden pause continued by the chorus. OooooOOooooohhhh, I can just listen to that part over and over again! It's so orgasmic! :P
I didn't realise that 'Mungkin Nanti' was actually a break-up song. I had initially thought that it was about a couple being seperated temporarily for some reasons like one of them having to move house or migrating to another country or furthering his/her studies or going off for National Service or something like that and that they were looking forward to meeting each other again in the future, hence the title 'Mungkin Nanti' meaning maybe later or maybe sometime in the future. My interpretation could be wrong though. :P
There are a few other wonderful songs by peterpan. This band from Indonesia is truly making a name for themselves with their artistic work. They are more of a rock band than anything but I prefer their more jiwang songs like 'Mungkin Nanti' and 'Ku Katakan Dengan Indah'. It's amazing how more successful the Indonesian artistes are compared to their Malaysian counterparts.
I feel that I've to take a page from the lyrics of this song. I admit that I'm still hurting from that episode (especially when you are reminded of it time and again) but what's there to do but to move on and probably take the same stance portrayed by this song. Just leave everything behind. No regrets. Any regrets will only be on her part, not mine. Time to truly close this chapter in my life once and for all. Empty pages are waiting for my pen, white canvases ready for my brush. All that is missing is the master to fill them up with his masterpiece. It's time.

ReplyDeleteI also love NOAH's songs but I'm having a hard time looking for the english translation of their songs .. and I also loooooveeee Ku Katakan Dengan Indah >.< but can't find its english translation
