I'm Yours
by Jason Mraz
"I'm Yours" music video by Jason Mraz
I love this song a lot. I used to come home from a busy day at work, tired and all, but all the fatigue, worries and headache goes away once I listen to this song. It made me feel all happy inside and all my troubles seem to just melt away. It became my drug. My daily fix. The first thing I did when I came home was to play this song everyday. The song worked wonders for me.

A Breath Of New Life
I know I've not blogged for awhile. Since the last time I blogged, I've repaired my blog template. It looks much better now compared to before (I hope). I'm sure you'll realise not only does it look cleaner, some of those unwanted elements have disappeared. If you've been subscribing to my RSS feed, you'll probably have come to realise that I've enabled full post syndication too. I continue to listen to the suggestions put forward by my ardent readers (all two of you out there) and I'm trying to strike a balance between your wants and my needs. ;)

The 2008 Mazda Miata
I love cars. I may not own tonnes of motoring magazines or work on my own motoring projects or modifications, I have great interest in the world of the fast and furious. I have many favourite cars and one of them is the 2008 Mazda Miata.
There's just something about this car that appeals to me. It has that classic look yet sporty and modern at the same time. This convertible is bound to turn heads when you take it for a ride.
There are tonnes of 2008 Mazda Miata reviews to be found online. One such review can be found at TheCarConnection.com.
It has the usual stuff you can find on other online reviews such as a written review, photo gallery and the sorts. However, it has something that most other sites do not provide - a 360 degree view of the car.
This is very useful as we're able to 'see' the product online without having to go to a showroom. This will definitely appeal to many who will do much of the research online first before visiting the showrooms. This feature will give the visitors a better overall picture of the car.
Of course, you shouldn't rely just on this to make your decision. You should eventually go to a showroom to have a feel of the car. Likewise, you shouldn't rely everything you read in a paid review and should visit the site to see for yourself what it has to offer.

State Of Neglect
Let me start this entry by saying this - I've been away for far too long and I'm really sorry.
I can list a hundred and one reasons and/or excuses for the current condition of my blog but nothing will change the fact that my blog is in a sorry state of neglect and the one responsible for it is none other than me. Even the YouTube video of David Archuleta's Longer has been stuck there on my blog longer than I can remember.

Dried Fruit Selections
If you are a dried fruit lover like me, you may find the offerings by Oh! Nuts to be quite appealing. They have a wide variety of dried fruits ranging from dried apricots, dates, dried papayas, figs, dried blueberries, raisins, dried kiwis and many other interesting fruits.
I'm quite intrigued by their offerings of dried pineapples and dried bananas as I find them to be quite unique and exotic. There are many other dried fruits that I never knew could be dried and made into a delicacy such as guava, pears, plums and tomatoes to name a few. The type of dried fruits that we usually find here are usually quite limited which explains my excitement to discover there are many more fruits that can be dried and made into very delicious delicacies.
At Oh! Nuts, they pride themselves by bringing you the best quality bulk dried fruits at the most reasonable price. Bulk dried fruits is part of their large selection of bulk nuts, bulk candy and bulk chocolate which are all kosher under rabbinical supervision.
You may find the information provided by paid reviews to be informative but nothing beats your personal judgement. As such, I would highly recommend you to visit their website to have a look at their wide variety of dried fruits and see which will satisfy your taste buds.

On their website, they have a tool that is able to evaluate the strength of your brand by just answering twelve simple questions. With that evaluation, you can contact them through phone or email to receive consultation on how to improve your branding.

First Fill Up After Petrol Price Hike
This is my first petrol fill up after petrol prices were increased by over 40% to RM2.70 on June 5th.
So many four digits to choose from! If any of you strike lottery, you're paying for my petrol for a year! :P
No, I wasn't one of those who queued up to fill up their tanks before the price were increased. I had actually refueled a few days before and I was never one to queue up for ages, burning precious time and fossil fuels at that, just so you could save a little before you inevitably have to pay a higher price for future refills. However, this time around I do not blame those who actually queued up since the increase was really drastic.
It was a painful experience for me too since I only had to pay around RM50 for a full tank before the recent petrol price hike and it's not like my income is all that great. I still remember not having to pay more than RM30 for a full tank ten years ago! However, I do not believe in subsidies as it actually causes more issues than actually resolving them. In fact, I've been calling for a total withdrawal of petrol subsidies for years now. If this was done years ago before petrol prices skyrocketed to US$138 per barrel, we wouldn't have been so badly hit. We would have been more economical with our petrol usage and would have relied less on the finite fuel source.
Since I've been very careful with my petrol usage for years now, I won't really feel the pinch of the recent petrol hike although it still does translate into less money in my pockets. In fact, I'm glad I kept faith with my SLK instead of upgrading to another car. I bet it's worth more than what it was before June 5th with many scouring for smaller and more fuel-efficient cars! ;)
Anyone of you interested in my Small Little Kancil? I'll willingly part with it if anyone comes up with a good offer. RM18k, anyone? ;)

Firefox 3: Download Day 2008
The new release of our beloved browser Firefox 3.0 will be released soon enough and the guys at Mozilla have a little something in mind for the official launching. They are planning to set a record for the most downloaded software over the period of 24 hours and I believe this is very much achievable. As I blog, there are over half a million pledges and it will only increase exponentially from here.
They don't have a release date yet but we can make a pledge to download the new browser on the day which they will announce later at the pledge map page. Currently, Malaysia is lacking way behind the other countries at less than 3,000 pledges. It's quite promising though since it has increased two-fold from the time I pledged a few days ago. At that time, even Singapore was ahead of us but we've overtaken them now albeit just a little advantage.
I've really enjoy using the browser over the likes of Internet Explorer, Safari and Opera. It's fast, it's safe, it's simply amazing. With the help of useful addons, it really makes my internet browsing a breeze rather than some horribly constipated experience.
The new browser is promising many improvements but that shouldn't stop you from changing your current browser to the current Firefox 2. Trust me, you'll never look at Internet Explorer the same way again after trying Mozilla Firefox. All you have to do to get the software is to click on the banner above this post that will assist you in downloading the best browser to date, IMHO.
Oh, and don't forget to pledge! Let's make history together. :)

The Way I Am
by Ingrid Michaelson
"The Way I Am" music video by Ingrid Michaelson
My heart melts everytime I listen to this song. Not only do I enjoy listening to the lyrics which are so meaningful, I love the musical arrangement done on this piece that makes it so acoustic. I'm a sucker for such music. I can literally put everything down at that very instant, close my eyes and absorb every ounce of the audible orgy that is emitted through those speakers. Fortunately, I've never heard Fly FM play this or any of Ingrid Michaelson's songs while I was driving. :P
Her songs have found its way into well-known series such as Grey's Anatomy and One Tree Hill too. No wonder I love watching these shows that little bit more than the rest. The songs that they manage to include so seamlessly into certain episodes make it that much more pleasurable to watch. It actually sets the tone for certain situation which makes you feel as if you're part of the show. Grey's Anatomy may not be as great this season but with such great music, it is still very much bearable.
I'm not exactly sure what genre this music falls into. I guess some people call it indie-pop or alternative music but I like to refer to them as elevator music or the ones you will hear in a cafe or bistro. I mean it in a good way when I say it sounds like elevator music, in a serene and classy way. If I would to open a cafe or bistro, this would be the type of music I will play along with musical pieces by Michael Buble, Josh Groban, Norah Jones and the likes. I can see myself sipping on some tea or coffee, with a good novel in my hand, on a beautiful afternoon and all these music playing in the background. Lovely, isn't it?
In fact, this is the type of song I would like to be played during my wedding reception rather than having loud amateur singers causing irreversible deafness to all my guests. Yes, I've done some planning for my future wedding, mostly what to do's and what not to do's. Not like I'm walking down the aisle anytime soon. :P
Didn't you find the music video cute and interesting too? Well, I did. Just love the part where the kids clapped their hands in sync with the music. Alright, the clowns can be a little scary but let's focus on the good stuff here, shall we? The song may be a little short but it's definitely one you will cherish every second of. Trust me, you'll be hooked after listening to it just once! Well, I did. ;)
"The Way I Am" music video by Ingrid Michaelson
If you were falling, then I would catch you.
You need a light, I'd find a match.
Cuz I love the way you say good morning.
And you take me the way I am.
If you are chilly, here take my sweater.
Your head is aching, I'll make it better.
Cuz I love the way you call me baby.
And you take me the way I am.
I'd buy you Rogaine if you start losing all your hair.
Sew on patches to all you tear.
Cuz I love you more than I could ever promise.
And you take me the way I am.
You take me the way I am.
You take me the way I am.

Manchester United Are 2008 European Champions!!!
Woohoo! Manchester United are Kings of Europe once again! After being crowned league champions for the 17th time just a week ago, they commemorated the 50th anniversary of the Munich air disaster by beating Chelsea 6-5 on penalties after a thrilling match that ended with a 1-1 draw at the Luzhniki Stadium to be crowned European champions for the third time in their history!
I know I did say I would resist the temptation of blogging until the end of the month but I just can't hold back my excitement at the moment. The feeling wasn't as great as the Treble '99 win (who can beat that for a dramatic finish?) but it was a sweet victory nonetheless. The penalty shootout probably stole a few years of my life! It was so intense just watching the players take turns to put the ball into the net. What a roller-coaster ride and this was just the penalty shootout!
It was a really bloody affair. Being the first all-English final and both teams wanting to win the trophy so badly for different reasons, no quarters were given. It was a really memorable and historic night indeed even for those who experienced the magic of 1999. Paul Scholes who missed out on the 1999 final with a suspension finally played in a European Champions League final but not without picking up a memento in the form of a bloodied nose. Luckily, he managed to play on because he was so instrumental in the build-up of Manchester United's opening goal a few minutes later, headed in by none other than the magnificent 42-goal machine, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Manchester United had a few chances to finish Chelsea off after that but as luck would have it, Chelsea was gifted with an equaliser at the stroke of half-time. Actually, I had a feeling that was gonna happen but it still felt as awful to see Frank Lampard slot the ball past Edwin van der Sar. In the second half, Chelsea fought back like wounded animals and laid siege on United's goal, blasting no less than a dozen shots but fortunately most hit the woodwork or were off target.
As the game looked like going into extra time, the bloodied Paul Scholes made way for Ryan Giggs who made his 759th appearance for Manchester United, eclipsing the record held by Sir Bobby Charlton all these years. I told you it was a memorable and historic night, didn't I? Manchester United fought back in extra time but it was inevitable that the match went to penalties, not before a moment of madness though. In keeping with the red theme of the night, Didier Drogba got himself sent off for giving Nemanja Vidic a petulant slap minutes before the final whistle. What a fag! Punch like a man, dude!
Penalties ensued and we all know you need a handful of Lady Luck to get through this stage of the competition. It looked like Chelsea would be crowned 2008 European Champions after Cristiano Ronaldo had his penalty kick saved by Petr Cech. However, destiny had something else in store for the night. It started to pour at the Luzhniki Stadium as John Terry walked up to take his penalty that would break the hearts of all Manchester United fans.
Instead of ending the night lifting the biggest trophy in club competition by slotting in the winning penalty, he did a David Beckham where he slipped while taking his penalty. At that moment, I knew both Destiny and Lady Luck were on Manchester United's side and when Edwin van der Sar managed to keep out Nicolas Anelka's penalty, the rest as they say is history.
Sir Alex Ferguson claims this is the best team he has ever managed and I don't think he's far from the truth. If they are not yet the best, they are definitely equipped to be the best ever Manchester United team. Many are predicting this team will dominate English and European football for years to come but I'm not looking into the future yet. At the moment, I'm relishing in the double triumph of arguably the best team in world football and without a shadow of a doubt, Cristiano Ronaldo will be crowned FIFA World Player of the Year and receive the Ballon d'Or later this year.
English and now European Champions. What next? Global domination? ;)

The X-Files: I Want To Believe Teaser
For all the X-Files fans out there, blow your minds away with this teaser of the upcoming movie!
Now pull yourself together. Go retrieve your shirts and put them back on. You wouldn't want the people around you to go blind, would you? It's not exactly the best trailer for a movie but didn't you get goosebumps when they played the X-Files theme song? Brings back memories, doesn't it?
I didn't watch every episode of the series because I lost interest in the latter seasons. For me, the magic wore off after a few seasons but it would be interesting to see how they transform the series made for television sets to the big screen. The movie will premier on the 25th of July this year but Malaysians will only be able to catch it from the 31st of July.
Can you believe it? Mulder and Scully are back!

Incommunicado
Just so you know, I will be incommunicado till the end of May. I will not be logging into any of the instant messaging clients, I won't be checking my emails, I won't be going through my RSS subscriptions, I won't be blogging, basically I won't be logging onto the internet to do what I'll usually do.
I will be a self-enforced hermit for the next two weeks. No reading of newspapers and all the miscellaneous stuff that eat into my precious time everyday. I owe myself that much. It is only two weeks, not two months!
I know my unread mails and RSS subscriptions will pile up in that two weeks period and it'll take me forever to go through them after I come out from my reclusion but it is a sacrifice I have to make.
This blog will be on auto-pilot during that period. There are a couple of posts scheduled to be published in the next few days. There isn't enough to cover till the end of May but I'll resist the temptation to blog until June comes along.
I may still post updates on Jaiku so it is not as if I've disappeared from the face of the Earth but that has yet to be decided. In the meantime, you all behave and don't burn my blog down, alright? See you guys in two weeks time!

'Improved' Parking At Tesco Penang
By improved, they meant to say PAY UP BITCHES!
Yes, the days of free parking at Tesco Penang is coming to an end. Many Penangites have dreaded for this day to come but ever since they installed barrier gates and autopay machines, it's only a matter of when and not if our privilege of free parking will be taken away from us.
They are currently testing out the system for a week for any kinks and we need not pay for parking yet till the 18th of May 2008. How much they intend to charge us after that is still anybody's guess. To claim that it will be a better and easier car park however is absolutely ridiculous. Other than inconveniencing customers with having to pay their parking tickets before they leave, I don't see how the carpark is made any better or easier for us.
I suppose they had no choice but to start charging since the free parking is always being abused by non-Tesco customers. People patronising the outlets at e-gate just across the street are known to park their cars at Tesco and walk over to e-gate. To be honest, I've done that a couple of times myself. :P You can't really blame me since the parking space at e-gate is very limited and expensive! However, I would like to say in my defence that I'm quite a frequent shopper at Tesco and it's not like I hardly do any shopping at Tesco but utilise their parking space all the time. I do contribute to the profit margins of Tesco too! :P
The situation is not helped by the completion of the Bayswater Condominium project and people started to move in after all their renovation work have been completed. What I cannot understand about people buying such condominiums is that if they can afford to pay that amount of money for their new abode and spend so much money on so many cars, why is it so difficult for them to purchase an additional parking space for their 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th cars? The going rate for a parking lot in condominiums and apartments nowadays is RM10,000 but you'll be hard-pressed to find any takers. It's just silly when you see cars parked illegally by the roadside but when you go to the carparks inside, the lots are practically empty.
The parking problems at Tesco have been apparent for quite awhile now but I believe their hands were forced when residents at Bayswater Condominium started parking their cars at the free shaded parking spaces at Tesco. The maximum four hour parking ruling must have not worked. In fact, I've heard some really absurd stories such as people parking their cars at Tesco and carpooling their friends/relatives/colleagues cars to go somewhere else. I think that's going a little too far.
To be fair to Tesco, they are offering free parking to their customers. You only have to validate your parking ticket at the checkout counter or the autopay station although they've yet to inform us what the terms and conditions are to qualify for the free parking. Fair enough but how if I intended to buy something at Tesco and like so often, the thing you want to purchase is out of stock (which was exactly what happed to me yesterday, not for the first time)? What then? Do I still have to pay for parking? Sure, I can just grab anything to qualify as a Tesco customer but in times of economic uncertainties, I'm not planning to make any unnecessary purchases just so I can get free parking.
Also, do I qualify as a Tesco customer if I make purchases or dine at the other outlets like Popular Bookstore, Courts Mammoth, Pizza Hut and McDonald's? Do I get free parking too if I make purchases at those outlets? I for one (and I know quite a few who does this too) sometimes go to Tesco not to shop at Tesco but to dine at the food outlets or shop at the various outlets there. If we have to pay parking for patronising outlets other than Tesco although they are within the same building, there's bound to be some effects on the sales of Tesco and the other outlets.
The attractiveness of shopping at Tesco and the various outlets under its roof is the free parking. It doesn't add to the overall cost of your shopping and you can leisurely make your purchases or enjoy your meals without having to worry about increasing parking rates. Once you take free parking out of the equation, you're bound to lose some customers.
I do not know how much they intend to charge but I bet it has to be high enough to stave off residents from Bayswater Condominium or patrons of e-gate from parking there. One thing is for sure, I will be frequenting Tesco and e-gate less often after this. I would rather drive further down to Queensbay Mall where they have more outlets for me to choose from and the environment is more enjoyable although they recently introduced new parking rates which are still reasonable, IMHO.

It's Been Three Years Already?
Can you believe it? This blog is 3 years old!
In my first year of blogging, the number of entries I wrote were just plain crazy - totaling 422 entries altogether! I guess it had very much to do with the excitement of starting a blog and discovering a new frontier! Then reality kicked in. It was just plain impossible for me to churn out so many blog entries on a regular basis. No one in their right mind has that much crap to talk about, do they? Stop looking at me like that! I do not have that much to say. =.=
While coming up with my 2006 Wish List, a New Year's Resolution of sorts, I decided to cut down on the quantity of entries and emphasised more on the quality of the content. In that very month, the number of entries dropped to just twenty from a minimum of thirty entries a month before that. Entries were on average lengthier than before and there were also more pictures. It took more effort to write an entry but it was definitely more fulfilling.
However, commitments kicked in after that and the number of entries tanked! In my second year of blogging, I couldn't even make it to 100 entries. I only managed to write 99 entries and I'm not proud of that statistic at all. In fact, nothing much has changed in my third year of blogging that ended at the stroke of midnight yesterday. The number of entries also did not breach the 100 mark but the leanest spell definitely has to be March 2008 with only one entry right on the very last day of the month. It wasn't exactly an entry I'm proud of either.
It is not that I had nothing to say in that month. Believe me, I had plenty to say what with the Malaysian General Elections and the aftermath of it all. I just couldn't find the time to sit down and convert all my thoughts into words. When I finally do have the time to blog, I've just too much to write about and can't decide on what to publish. I don't intend on dumping all those entries on my readers all at once! Believe me, it's not a pretty sight but I won't be able to find the time to space out my entries and publish them one by one. So, I decide to use the time to rest instead. :P
However, that may (hopefully) change with the introduction of Scheduled Post Publishing by Blogger. With that new service, I can have my mental diarrhea whenever I want, store all the crap up and schedule them to be released at designated days. In fact, that's how you get to read this entry! I'm probably up on Mount Kinabalu at the moment so there's no way I'm able to post this entry if I didn't write it earlier and schedule it to be published this very day. Also, (finally) having my own laptop will also help me find the time to translate my thoughts into words on a more regular basis.
The most popular entries for this past year has to be the ones regarding the launching of Perodua Viva. That was the period that my blog received the most visitors ever! It even eclipsed the previous high regarding how a Konsortium Bus Driver Abuses Passengers. It was definitely an indication of how popular this model was and you can see it on the number of them on the roads now.
Even with newer content on the blog, some of the old entries seem to remain ever popular. It's amazing really. Among the all time favourites are Tong Hua (Fairy Tale), the Tammy NYP sex video scandal, the Malaysian Police ala Abu Ghraib controversy and the wardrobe malfunction at Lakme India Fashion Week.
In truth, nothing much interesting happened on my blog in this past year worth mentioning very much due to the lack of entries. To compensate the lack of entries on this blog, I started micro-blogging through Jaiku hoping writing shorter entries on my mobile phone would at least keep my friends updated on what I'm doing. It's not a replacement for this blog but both works complementary of each other. In fact, I'm updating as much as I can regarding my trip to Sabah now!
In this past year, I've started writing more reviews too. I try not to write too much and chooses products and sites that would probably interest my readers. It's important to remain relevant while making a few bucks along the way. No point writing reviews that are of no use to your readers, right?
I'm still finding it hard to squeeze enough time to blog the things I feel strongly about. I do hope I will be able to blog more frequently after this. Whatever it is, I've found the three years of blogging very therapeutic and will definitely continue to speak my mind, whenever time permits. Whether you will still be reading the nonsense I write is a different matter altogether. Anyway, thank you for having taken this journey with me and let's wish for many more wonderful years to come. Cheers!

Leaving On A Jet Plane
by Chantal Kreviazuk
"Leaving On A Jet Plane" music video by Chantal Kreviazuk
Just love this song especially this version by Chantal Kreviazuk. Just the right song to leave you all with while I'm gone. Yes, I'm leaving on a jet plane at this very moment. I'm off to Sabah - The Land Below The Wind! I'll be trying my very best to conquer South East Asia's highest peak, Mount Kinabalu among other exciting activities lined up for my one week trip there. I don't know if I'll be able to update my blog while I'm there although they claim to have broadband internet at the lodge that I'll be staying in. However, I'll keep you updated through my Jaiku postings sent on my mobile phone every step of the way! Wish me luck people!

Man Trapped In Elevator For 41 Hours!
It must have been hell for Nicolas White to be trapped in an elevator for 41 hours without food, water or a toilet! He also didn't have a handphone that he could use to call for help or a watch to tell him the time. Take a look at this time-lapse video of his 41 hour ordeal.
Maybe some people I know that uses the elevator instead of climbing up a flight of stairs will reconsider their after-lunch routine after seeing this video especially when the elevator is located at such a secluded area. :P
Will you still take the elevator after seeing this video?

Rock Candy
Everyone knows what a sweet tooth I have and how much I crave for certain sweets and candies. I can easily devour a bag of candies very much like how David Copperfield made the Statue of Liberty disappear, only that they've disappeared in my tummy and they're gone forever. :P
One of my favourites happen to be rock candy. They are sometimes known as sugar swizzle sticks. Whatever they are called, I'm a sucker for those candy. Oh! Nuts have a wide variety of old fashioned crystal rock candy to choose from. Different colours, different flavours, different shapes and sizes, you can choose all you want to your heart's desire! Just do me a favour and pave yourself, will you? You wouldn't want to experience a sugar rush now or would you? :P
All their candies are kosher under rabbinical supervision so you don't need to worry if you're Jewish. Also, their prices are really reasonable and did I mention that the selection is just enormous?
Don't just take my word for it. There's just so much a paid review can tell you. Go on, browse through their site yourself and see all those interesting sweets and candies you can pamper yourself with.

The Pearl Of The Orient Project
Since the day a new government took over the northern island state, changes have been sweeping across both sides of the channel with the Pearl of the Orient Project announced this morning to replace the controversial mixed development Global City Centre project planned for the grounds currently used for equestrian activities as the newest change brought about by the new state government.
It looks as if the developer of the controversial Global City Centre has finally decided to back down and heed the calls of the island dwellers to not only retain but expand the green lung in its proximity. Also part of the new Pearl of the Orient Project, the developer will help realise the hopes of the new state government to further develop the state's tourism by having not only the largest indoor aquarium exhibition but also a world-class night safari in place of the many ugly towers.
Instead of the two iconic towers initially planned for the site, a large dome resembling a pearl will be constructed which can be used for all kinds of functions. Not only will it serve as an exhibition hall or even as a place for married couples to have their wedding dinners or kenduri, it will be uniquely constructed to enable sporting events to be held inside. Rumours has it that the organisers are planning to stage a Manchester United and Arsenal match for the inaugural opening of the dome which can also open up very much like the one in Sapporo.
In return, the monorail project initially planned for the state will be scrapped and replaced with a subway system recently proposed by the new state government. This project has been put forward to the developer in exchange of backing down from the controversial Global City Centre project and embark on the Pearl of the Orient project instead. Realising that with much opposition from the residents and probably the new state government, the developer decided to change its plans for the equestrian site and took up the offer of constructing and running the subway system which they foresee to be as lucrative and successful as that of the MRT system found in Singapore.
This is truly a great win for the many residents on the island who see the Global City Project as none other than a project that will only benefit and enrich a few at the expense of many like the yatch race in an east coast state, also a project by the developers of the controversial Global City Centre project.
If only the announcement wasn't made on this day.

Gift Baskets For Purim
If you're a candy lover and Jewish you'll want to read more about this. Today, I'll be writing about Purim Baskets.
Shalach Manos is a traditional gift that one sends to the other on Purim day. So what exactly is this Purim day? Purim is a rabbinically ordained Jewish holiday that commemorates the deliverance of the Jewish people from Haman's plot to annihilate all of them in the ancient Persian Empire as recorded in the Biblical Book of Esther. Purim is celebrated annually according to the Hebrew calendar on the 14th day of the Hebrew month of Adar, the day following the victory of the Jews over their enemies which was on the 13 day of Adar. This year it will be celebrated on the 20th of March 2008.
It's an Oh! Nuts tradition to bring you the most up-to-date designed Shalach Monos and Purim Gifts Basket (Mishloach Manot) at the most reasonable prices. This Purim 2008 extra effort is made to ensure that all of their Purim Baskets are packed with only the highest quality Kosher candy, nuts and chocolate.
If you prefer trays to baskets, they have several selections of that too and all of them look really tempting. There's just so much a paid review can tell you so why don't you just visit their website for a look-around yourself and see what they have to offer.

Don't Gimme More Of Britney's Piece Of Me
"Gimme More" music video by Britney Spears
It's Britney, BITCH! She's not exactly having a great time at the moment, what with losing custody of her kids, having to visit a shrink, seeking help for her drug and alcohol addiction/abuse and who knows what other nonsense she got herself into. She's becoming like the female version of Michael Jackson with her wacky ways!
But it's not all of those stuff that I'm focusing on. It's her bread and butter that I wish to discuss here - her music and her dancing. Her latest releases is not that bad really. In fact, they are quite catchy tunes. However, it really tells you so much about a person when they have to start the song by introducing themselves in the most crude way possible. What's more, you have the nerve of calling yourself the legendary Miss Britney Spears?!? What are you legendary for? Messing up your great life?
"Piece Of Me" music video by Britney Spears
She's known for her choreography too and by looking at these two music videos, you know she's lost it. Sure, she just gave birth to her child not so long back and everybody understands that but maybe that's what everyone is trying to say to her, stay on in your maternity absence until you are ready to perform again! Don't come out half-baked and looking like a walrus trying to shake all that unsightly flab around. You're just killing your image and spoiling the appetite of millions of fans.
I enjoy listening to her latest songs but everytime I hear them, I'm reminded of this horrid performance of hers at the 2007 VMA presentation. Remember, it is a VIDEO MUSIC award presentation and she definitely chose the wrong time to make her comeback especially looking like that, dressing like that and performing like that!
Now that is something you really want to forget! No, Britney...I don't think anyone wants more of you right now. You have definitely given us TOO much of yourself for our liking. I don't think anyone wants a piece of you either at this moment in time. Please excuse me as I run over to Tesco to grab myself some much needed Clorox to wash all of that out of my brain!

Get Paid To Sign Up!
The chase for money is on every person's mind. Who is blaming them anyway considering money is essentially needed for practically everything these days. You'll be surprised the lengths some people will go to earn a dollar or two and that includes the flesh trade which is getting ever so popular nowadays.
Fortunately, there are many other ways to earn some extra cash which doesn't involve selling your kidneys or dignity. One of it is even as easy as just signing up! Yup, get paid to sign up! Simple enough? Head on over to MetaPaid then.
It's really very easy. First, enter your email address to begin the registration process. After you've completed the registration process, you'll enter the Member's Area where you can browse through the available offers for you to earn cash. It's free to join and you get paid fast too. They pay every 1st and 15th of the month.
The only problem for me is, they only cater to members from the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. I do hope they plan to expand the membership worldwide soon. Anyways, if you're interested and eligible to participate, drop by the site to have a look yourself. There's just so much a paid review can tell you.

Wedding Speeches
It's becoming a trend nowadays for the bride and groom to give wedding speeches during their wedding dinners, even for Asian receptions. I've quite a number of friends having their wedding receptions this year and they'll probably find this site useful.
The site I'm referring to is Francesco Vitetta wedding speeches. It is a site which contains some nice wedding speeches that you can refer to. I'm not saying you should just take the samples whole-piece since a wedding speech should by right come from the heart but at least they can be used as some sort of a guideline for you to compose that sweet wedding speech that would melt hearts and make the night more memorable.
Sure, you'll have to purchase the e-book but isn't 29 Euroes money well spent if it doesn't make you sound like a total nincompoop on stage on your special day? I've heard a fair share of wedding toasts and speeches and trust me, quite a few of them would have benefited from some sort of help such as the one provided by this e-book. So what are you waiting for? There's just so much information you can get from a paid review. Visit the site to find out more yourself!

Bulk Candy
For all those candy lovers out there or whoever has a sweet tooth (like me) - this post is for you. Even if you have no intention of buying candy at the moment, I assure you will enjoy yourself going through the selection available at this site. In fact, you'll be very tempted to purchase some yourself! I know I nearly did. :P
So what site am I referring to? The site really has a catchy name - Oh Nuts! and it's a wonderful place where you can buy candy in bulk. Among the candies they have to offer are Jordan Almonds Candy, Hard Candies, Gummies, Lollipops, Jelly Bean Candy, Licorice Candy, Bubblegum and Chocolate Candy.
My ultimate favourite are Gummies and Lollipops. They really have a wide selection of gummies and lollipops to choose from. Some of you would know by now about my liking for gummy bears. They are so chewy and addictive. Before you know it, you've finished a whole bag of them bears! I particularly love biting their heads of first. It's not some psycho-sadistic behaviour, I assure you. ;)
I was salivating as I browsed through their site. I kid you not. They have the tastiest looking candies all in one place. Don't just trust everything you read in a paid review. Drop by their site to evaluate for yourself!

Orang Minyak In USM
The latest buzz at the main campus of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) here in Penang since last week has to be news regarding the numerous cases of rape and molestation (supposedly as high as four so far) by the supposedly supernatural being Orang Minyak (oily man). Other newspapers have picked up on the story a few days back but The Star only featured the story today.
In all seriousness, I don't believe that the orang minyak is a supernatural being at all. To me, it is just a horny bastard who loves to run around naked with his body all greased up in oil, preying on innocent (virgin) women (and men). Yes, there have been cases of men (a security guard in fact) being sodomised by the orang minyak before. The orang minyak must be really horny that day or just couldn't differentiate between a guy and a gal.
The orang minyak chooses to go full monty and cover his whole body with grease or oil is actually to facilitate his escape. Without any clothing on him for you to grab him by and his whole body fully greased, you'll have a very hard time to catch the horny bastard. Some will resort to black grease to use as a camouflage in the dark and to avoid recognition.
It has been said that the orang minyak has mystical powers and you will feel light-headed when he has chosen you as his prey. To me, that's a whole load of crap. With chemicals widely available on campus, the orang minyak probably used acetone, chloroform or some other chemicals to knock his victims unconscious. Such chemicals aren't exactly that hard to come by in the open market either.
There are claims that the orang minyak could walk through walls too while escaping. To me, it is probably the victims being too high from the fumes used to knock them out (and/or their first orgasmic experience with the orang minyak) to actually think coherently.
I really hope it is all not true and just the creation of some undergraduate who is too free at the moment and has an overly active imagination. This is of course for the safety of everyone in USM (both male and female) as there's definitely a heightened atmosphere of fear here in USM at the moment.
After all, the USM administration claims it is all just rumours since no one has come forward to report any such cases or substantiate these claims. If that is the case, care to explain the increased security checks at every entrance/exit points of USM? If there's no fire, there's no smoke. Also, which rape victim would actually come forward to subject themselves to more shame? As much as I plead for rape victims to come forward to bring the animals that attacked them to justice, many would rather not go through the whole ordeal of shame all over again. That is the sad reality not just here in Malaysia but everywhere else around the world.
Also, is there a link between this and the allegedly person who committed suicide at University Heights recently? Was it a student? Was it a victim of the orang minyak? Is there any connection at all? It is really strange that no reports were picked up regarding the alleged University Heights suicide even in the Chinese dailies.
Orang minyak or no orang minyak, this has been a somewhat good distraction for the mundane life of university students. It has proven to be a very popular topic during lunchtime and tea breaks. For the sake of everyone in USM, I do hope it is just some cheeky undergraduate trying to spice up everyone's life.
However, if the cases are actually true, then the culprit(s) should be hunted down and since they love to run around naked, we shall fulfill their wishes by parading them all around campus without a piece of cloth to cover any part of their body. I wonder how big they will think of themselves then.
All abuzz over oily man
PENANG: While not many in Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) are taking the stories of an orang minyak (oily man) preying on female students seriously, some of them have begun taking extra safety precautions on their own.
The main campus has been abuzz over the last few days with talk that an oily man had broken into several hostels and raped female students.
USM acting vice-chancellor Prof Ahmad Syukri Mustapa Kamal said so far, the authorities had yet to receive any reports of rape or sightings by students.
"USM is working closely with the police to ensure the security of the campus. We appeal for people to refrain from spreading rumours about rape cases that have been found to be baseless," he said in a press statement.
Security has been stepped up at the entrances with closed-circuit TV camera surveillance and 24-hour patrols conducted by guards and hostel authorities.
Female students are taking better care of themselves.
"Students are saying that the orang minyak is raping girls to improve his prowess in black magic, but whatever the reason, we are very concerned," said second-year communications student Nur Farahiyah Mhd Taib, 21, who stays in a hostel on campus.
She said the girls were now staying together in big groups at their hostels or when walking back from meetings at night.
Course mate V. Kumutha, 22, said the girls in her hostel also had a meeting with the hostel committee.
"They advised us to keep safe and also taught some of the girls prayers to deter the oily man," she said.
Some students had gone to the extent of vacating the campus hostels during the night.
"For the last two days, many people have been sleeping over with friends who live off campus," said second-year management student C.P. Teng, 22.

Bus Crash No More
Human nature is really a funny thing. We only react to something when we or someone close to us are directly affected by that very something. The most we would do is discuss it over a cup of teh tarik with our friends or relatives and we would have moved on to the next hot topic that comes by. I've very much guilty of this character flaw too.
However, such stories should never have even been made into a topic of discussion. It should never had happened in the first place. It is really high time that something is done to the insanely high occurrence of bus crashes in Malaysia which have claimed hundreds if not thousands of lives thus far.
I've my share of stories regarding bus drivers from hell but none as famous as the Konsortium bus driver who verbally (and very nearly physically) abused his passengers. I rely heavily on express buses to travel around as do my mother and brothers. Others like us would admit in an instance that fear creeps in whenever anyone of us boards an express bus. The risk is just too high but we've no choice but to take the risk by taking a ride on the buses.
My friends who knew one of the victims of the recent Slim River bus crash, prodigious child Lee Nian Ning, created a blog and started an online petition for the very purpose of ending this mayhem. Please lend your support towards the eradication of reckless bus drivers and non-roadworthy buses from Malaysian roads. Enough lives have perished. The madness must stop now.

With You
by Chris Brown
"With You" music video by Chris Brown
Just can't get this song out of my head at the moment! A really lovely song from the one they call the next Michael Jackson (as in dancing phenomenon MJ rather than Wacko Jacko MJ). This fellow can really dance. It's such a waste he was only in the movie "Stomp The Yard" at the beginning before his character got killed so soon into the movie. Even with that cameo appearance, he showed some really nice moves that was simply mind-boggling. Just look at him work his legs and body! Just amazing. If the moves in the music video is not enough fodder for you, sample a scene from his debut movie.
He really has a good voice too apart from good rhythm and good moves. A few of his songs are doing pretty well at the moment. I'm coming to enjoy his work alot. Excuse me as I sample more of his music and dance moves.

Carpool For A Better Tomorrow
With all the talk centered on global warming at the moment, it is only natural for us to think of ways to contribute towards reducing greenhouse gases which is the main cause of global warming. Whatever you ultimately choose to do (big or small), be it driving a hybrid car, reuse and recycle, using alternative energy, switching off appliances that you are not using or as simple as taking the stairs instead of the elevator, it will have a cumulative effect on reversing the devastating effects of global warming.
It is a vicious cycle, really. When it gets warmer, you crank up the air-conditioning. This will result in higher energy usage which translates to higher greenhouse emissions. This will cause temperatures to increase further which will result in you cranking up the air-conditioning even higher! Let's also not forget about the harmful gases that will be released to the atmosphere especially for older air-conditioning models.
Carpool is one effective way to reduce greenhouse gases. As the largest automobile market in the Southeast Asian region, we definitely can make a huge difference by carpooling. Just imagine that instead of five single occupant cars on the road, four decided to leave their cars at home and carpool with a fifth friend. That is 80% of cars off the road everyday! Just think of all the traffic jams solved, the energy costs and time saved, and most importantly, what good it will do to the environment!

It is a vicious cycle, really. When it gets warmer, you crank up the air-conditioning. This will result in higher energy usage which translates to higher greenhouse emissions. Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue
Welcome to a brand new year! Can you feel the freshness of 2008 or is the stench of 2007 still lingering around? Truth be told, 2007 wasn't that bad a year for me but of course it had its ups and downs. Fortunately, there were more ups than downs.
Instead of dwelling on the past, let's forge forward to a brand new beginning. A month's time from now, we will be celebrating Chinese New Year and I just can't wait. When Chinese New Year comes along, another special day follows closely behind - Valentine's Day.
When Valentine's Day comes along, the prices of flowers especially roses will magically increase astronomically. Buying a single stalk of rose at this time of the year is already crazy enough, what more a bouquet? Strangely enough, there will still be lots of people queuing up to part with their hard-earned money on them. Die-hard romantics.
Whatever you think of to make your Valentine's Day a little different or special like resorting to chocolates, self-made cards, mixed tapes or home-cooked meals, nothing can replace the meaning a bouquet or even a stalk of rose brings.
Did you know that different colours of roses have different meanings? Red is for romance, yellow is for friendship, white is for innocence/purity and pink is for appreciation. Do choose the colours of your roses correctly to convey the desired message.
One place you can go for all your flower needs is 1800flowers.com which has quite an extensive collection to choose from at reasonable prices. Instead of just trusting a paid review wholeheartedly, browse through the site yourself to see what they have to offer. It's never too early to plan for that special day in February. ;)
