Ophelia Hits North Carolina

It's Hurricane Season in the United States of America as Hurricane Ophelia threatens to cause havoc in North Carolina, just weeks after Hurricane Katrina left New Orleans crippled and hundreds dead. Ophelia has been an excruciatingly slow-moving system, looping around several times in the Atlantic Ocean and changing from tropical storm to hurricane and back again four times. The Department of Homeland Security, which was accused of not properly planning for Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath along the Gulf Coast, released Wednesday an unusually comprehensive plan for meeting the needs of residents who might be affected by Ophelia. Early indications show Ophelia will not be as destructive as Katrina but is that any good at all? Mother Nature is relentlessly unleashing her wrath on the human race. When will we start caring for her?
